Default Hell is other peoples music

Do you know someone who's taste in music you consider so dire you want to shake them and wake them up?

Music is such a personal thing. It can be compared to your taste in food, you either like something or you don't. Somethings are unbearable and somethings you can't get enough of.

What music, band, singer, do you consider completely unpalatable?
Never explain - your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway.

Dance music is for dancing to. I don't understand why people listen to it at home or work, or in the car. You can't dance there!

Well, I finally got to see the big Tom Cruise blockbuster that no one's going to see, as the wheather is so nice no one wants to go into a cave. Initial reports on this film are rather split. Some say it's too much like a feature length TV episode, others say it's the best one yet. Myself, I think I'm gonna go with the second bunch. If it isn't the best one yet, it is indeed a return to the form of the first one.

JJ Abrams - the creator of lost - brings us into the story during the last ten minutes, with Mr Cruise tied to a chair, looking the worse for wear, his girlfriend bound and gagged and the oh so creepy bad guy Davian - Phillip Seymour Hoffman - with a gun to her head. He counts to ten and the gun goes off, cue the opening credits.

The story setup is more like the television show, with Cruise's Ethan Hunt now a agent trainer for the IMF (impossible Missions Force - God that's good). He is drawn back into active service when an agent he trained is kidnapped looking to get info on Davian. All the elements are there, from the secret rendezvous to the message that will blow up in five seconds. We even get the line "your mission...if you choose to accept it." - Classic.

Fans of Shaun of the Dead will love the brief yet-oh-so-good roll of Benji, the computer nerd played by Simon Pegg. His moments are few, but he provides some much needed chuckles. Hoffman makes such a good bad guy. I think there is something just unlikable about that guy - sorry Phill. Lawrence Fishburne steers away from his Morphius past with the roll of the tough, nasty boss who demands results. He also has some good lines: "It's unreasonable that chocolate makes you fat, but I've eaten a lot of chocolate bars in my time, and guess what...?".

Over all, the film is too cinematic to say it is just a feature length TV episode. There is a fantastic helecopter chase through wind turbines that is breath taking. The film is, of course, another display of the one man show that is Tom Cruise, with him rarely - if ever - off camera. However, this is possibly his most human role so far. He puts in some good acting with the concern for his fellow agent - the one he trained - being kidnapped.

I'll have to award this film a good three potatoes - it would have got the forth if only they'd used Ving Rhames more...

    Thank you kindly

The stuff that annoys me the most is...probably...anything that is on popular radio. Especially the stuff Jo Whiley plays. Stupid, fence-sitting, fake, know nothing, know-it-all that she is. "Ooh that Pete Babyshambles is a bit of a genius isn't he?"

No, he is a compete waste of planetary resources.

Yeah, so the least favorite members of my species (musically) would have to be, that Dougherty character and Will Young. Don't get me started about him. A definite fingers in ears, "LA LA LA, can't hear you!" moment.

Coldplay. If my dog made a noise like that I'd have it put down.
