Default Arcade Fire @ Glastonbury 2007

I first saw Arcade Fire at The Carling Festival at Leeds in 2005, and they were the best band at that festival too!

The highlight of Glastonbury 2007 was without doubt Arcade Fire, they're a big band, and produce a brilliant atmosphere and soundscape which fills a field or arena. They deliver exactly what you want from a large live performance, booming out great tunes one after another. It's easy to forget the crappy weather with these guys onstage.

They kicked the set off early with new single "Cars Don't Go", and kept up the pace with storming renditions of old and new favourites. Saving the best till last they closed with a popular favourite "Wake Up", which had been much anticipated. No one this year came close to touching this performance, they stood head and shoulders above the likes of inArticulate Monkeys and The Kooks.
