Thumbs up Shit-hot gigs that you have been to

    In no particular order:

    From the 90's:

Slayer, Cypress Hill & Pantera @ Brixton Academy

Entombed, Cradle of Filth & Napalm Death @ The Marquee

Morbid Angel @ The Rock House (Derby) (and I was on the Guest List at that one too. )

Entombed & Napalm Death @ The Astoria (London)

Whatever from Glasto, Donington, Strawberry, etc ...

Off the Street benefit gig in Leeds 1993 was very good.

U2 on the Zooropa tour, again Leeds 1993.

Peter Gabriel, Sheffield 1993 and Manchester 2003. Blimey '93 was a chuffin' good year for me.

    Nick Cave Edinburgh 1999.

    Any Flaming Lips gig.

The best for me were - The Cult @ Manchester Apollo in about 1990 (ish) I cant remember exact year. Guns and Roses @ Wembley about 1991 ish, Flaming Lips @ Blackpool about 2009 ish and Fleetwood Mac @ MEN 2011 (?).

I really liked seeing Tift Merritt at Glastonbury but that wasn't really a gig, more of an in tent performance.

The Cult were the best of all , hopefully I will relive the experience when I go see them later this year.

Oasis, Earls Court 1995 was a really good gig.

I think Knebworth may have just beat it. The music was about as good, but the car that blew up in the car park afterwards (about 20 metres away from us) was amazing!

Thumbs up Re: Shit-hot gigs that you have been to

I have not been to a 'gig' for ages now.

Makes me want to get back out there again although I can not bounce about like I did back in the day.

At least I can pin a badge on myself for doing The Marquee and the big Brixton (and other London) jobs.

Oh yeah - Orbital at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. No bad deal when one of your favourite groups are in your home town.

Thin Lizzy in about 1980, Sheffield City Hall. fave band of all time.
Doctor Feelgood, 4 times, late 70s/early 80's.Sheffield City Hall and Sheffield Steely's Club. Best live act I've ever seen.
Pretenders supported by UB40 Sheffield Steely's Club. can't remember the date, but "Brass in pocket" was at number 1 and UB40 had just realeased "King". Best of all, ticket only cost me a fiver!
Hawkwind Sheffield city hall 1970s Stoned for a week after that, all the frigging hippies were smoking pot all night.
Motorhead Sheffield city hall early 80's Deaf for a week after this one!
