New album for REM
Rock band REM are to unveil new material from their new album at a series of concerts in Dublin. The shows, in July at the Olympia Theatre, will be the firs time in a decade the band has played new songs live before they appeared on an album.
Recording is expected to begin in the coming months with bassist Mike Mills hinting it may have a more "uptempo" feel than 2004's Around the Sun.
The as-yet-untitled album is expected out before the end of the year.
REM are best known for their songs Losing My Religion and Everybody Hurts, and have also released 13 studio albums.
