Dame Shirley Bassey for Glastonbury!!!

singer Dame Shirley Bassey is to perform at this years Glastonbury Festival, says the organiser Michael Eavis. 70 year old Bassey enjoyed huge chart successes in the 1950's, 60 and 70's and also sung some of the James Bond theme tunes.
The news came as the local council granted the festival a new four-year licence, taking it up to 2010 with an expanded capacity of 177,500.
Mr Eavis told the BBC News website the licence was "absolutely fantastic".
He has also revealed Damien Rice would headline the acoustic stage along with The Waterboys.

I think you're right, SFB. Glastonbury has always been about a wide spectrum of music, old and new. And I think many still respect the kind of career she has had. Here's hoping she plays a stonker!

i thought it was unusual for Bassey to be at a festival such as Glastonbury. seems i'm wrong
