Billy Henderson who was one of the founding members of the US Soul group, The Spinners has died at the age of 67 of complications from Diabetes. The group was formed in 1954 but they didn't manage international fame until the 1970's.
The Spinners had hits such as
I'll Be Around and
Could It Be I'm Falling In Love. They also earned themselves 6 Grammy Awards Nominations. In the UK The Spinners were known as The Detroit Spinners because there was already a a UK band called Spinners.
The friends formed the band in the detroit suburbs and were originally called The Domingoes. They became the second black musical group to get a star on on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
Mr Henderson was sacked in 2004 after he sued the groups corperation and business manager to obtain financial records.
