One of Macca's best songs in my view. to stop my mind from wandering, where it will go

Its has often wandered to the old sex comedy morality tale "Here we go round the Mulberry Bush". Christopher Timothy as a randy bus conducter? - exactly. That is how old it is but I aint seen it recently.

The lovely ladies Judy Geeson, Adrienne Posta and Leslie Phillip's missus - Angela Schoular. But it is all this youth violence that brings it to mind and one key scene. The "hero" Barry Evans (no longer with us I think) watching without any dubious subtext a group of younger boys - a gang I suppose. The latter group reach a junction and one of them decides to go one way but his companions all march off another way. The solitary kid tries to get his mates to go his way instead and proceeds hesitantly on his original route but after a bit - gives in and runs after the rest of the group.

But even back then I found the one lad's decision to join the others odd! I would have gone on alone. I had mates but I survived without them.

There are so many incidents reported where it seems the self sufficiant youngster - who will NOT fight is seen as a threat and tragedy and stupidity as a result. For victims, assailants and boths families.

In my youth - weapons were very uncommon - luckily for me.

So you bury yourself in a gang culture possibly under peer pressure - how much of what you grow into is the undiluted you? What gets lost? How many lives are blighted by the bullies of this world?

I would counsel - go your own way but of course - how many young ones are allowed to? Sad, Very sad.
