    Default Trainspotting

Sorry for the long delay between reviews folks, my damned VCR broke!

    trainspotting
Now, back to the film in question: Trainspotting

The film adaptation of the Irvine Welsh novel, directed by BAFTA winner Danny Boyle. The story centres on a group of young heroin addicts in Edinburgh, and follows the story of Renton (Ewan McGregor) as he tries, fails, then succeeds to quit smack.

This is the role which raised the future Obi Wan Kenobi to greater heights than independant brit-flicks, and is seen by many as his best ever performance. The "worst toilet in Scotland" scene is often referred to and illustrates this films gritty surealism perfectly.

The film is backed by a revered soundtrack of some of the top Britpop artists of the generation and sealed the fate of Trainspotting becomming a huge cult icon. Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll have long been a good staple for youth pop culture, and this film ticks all the right boxes.

*To win your own copy of this classic, on glorious VHS, just answer this simple question:

Who did Ewan McGregor go on to play in the Star Wars universe?

PM me your answers and a winner will be plucked from the hat and announced in one weeks time. Good luck everybody!*

*Congratulations to Alucard Djin for correctly answering the first question, "Which Peter Jackson movie starred Micheal J Fox?", it was indeed Frighteners.

Your prize will be winging it's way to you once you provide a delivery address.*
    Re-record, not fade away.

So I'm not the only person on the planet with a VCR still!

We do have a DVD player, but have very few DVDs and rarely use either VCR or DVD anymore.
