Straight to DVD!??!

I picked it up at me local Tesco the other night.

After watching the trailer last year I thought it looked a bit, well, you know....a bit shit.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Mr Romero is clearly operating under the constaints of a very low budget but still manages to put his bloody stamp (yet again) on an over-saturated market of lurching dead bargain-bin wanabees.

Their are no "name" actors I recognised, but the characters are well written and there is more humour than George's earlier efforts.

As ever, it's a story that focuses on human interaction and dilemas in a world overun with walking corpses. As the title says, it's all about survival, but at what price?

The body of the story is built around two feuding families on an offshore island. It has a wild-western vibe to it...............and this works surprisingly well considering.

It's good to see the old maestro is still coming up with a new ideas when it comes to walking piles of pus.

I did not hold out much hope for the film but I was wrong to doubt the original zombie mastermind.

It is by no means a classic, but George is still the king of the zombies.

Long may he reign!
