Ridley Scott is directing this film.
It stars Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian and Russell Crowe as Robin Hood.
Former spooks star Matthew MacFadyen is rumoured to be Sheriff of Nottingham.

That sounds like the kind of role Russel Crowe would be drawn to... I bet Kate is the kind of co-star he'd be drawn to as well.
Hopefully it has some good action sequences without a lot of CGI effects.

Interesting cast! I'd love to see Russell Crowe as Robin Hood!
I can vaguely remember watching the one with Kevin Costner... I guess it had left me rather indifferent - I neither loved it nor hated it.

Russell Crowe will be much better than Kevin Costner at the part. The guy in the Mel Brooks version said it best when he stated something along the lines of "unlike some Robin Hoods, I have a British accent." Crowe isn't British, but his accent is closer than Costners.
