I glimpsed him at the end of the remake of "War of the Worlds" I do not know if he had a speaking part but thought it apt after yesterday. Barry was in the original "War Of The Worlds" too.
Burkes Law was remade too but it was always a rubbish programme. Multimillionaire solves crime from the back of his Roller and the suggestion was he "rugged" the different beautiful women on his arms as he is doing it. Solving crime I mean.
Burke knew everyone in his rarified world and every character in each episode was played by fairly well known thespians.
Burkes Peerage if you like. Burke Peer! Ages! Moor like.
But enough of me I never read War of the Worlds but was Cruises version based on the book. I thought - dah!
Spoiler:
Tim - yes TIM Robbins explained the aliens had been waiting a million years to harvest us?
Hidden underground spaceships waiting to be activated? Two words! Tectonic plates!
One word. Drilling. Land masses moving! And these spaceships that can be taken down with a couple of grenades survived and were never found. No matter how deep - dah!
Close Encounters is still the daddy. Close Encounters of the Third Man kind though? Everyone remembers "The Cuckoo clock!" but the other subject Cottoned onto.
"If a few of those dots below (humans) stop moving - would you mind so much if you became rich as a result of it?"
