Default Diary of the Dead Rubbish

I'm a big fan of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead (and in fact Shaun of the Dead), Day of the Dead and the more recent Land of the Dead. However, today I had the misfortune to see Diary of the Dead. Anyone know what I'm talking about? George Romero why????!

I'm afraid I haven't yet seen it. Our resident (evil) zombie expert Zombie Mastermind is the one to ask, he loves Romero films. I think he's even met the guy. He's definitely met Ken Foree from Dawn of the Dead.

Loulou, how do you feel about the Dawn of the Dead remake and the new 28 Days Later speedy zombies?

I saw Diary at the pix and was a bit underwhelmed.

Not seen it since, but I want to re-evaluate it. There are some cool moments in it and I love the homage to the old black and white mummy movies via the security cams.

I was very disapointed with Land on my first viewing, but have now watched it 5 of 6 times and love it. It is very relevant to the times we live in, as are all of Romero's films, i.e. dealing with issues that were going on in society at the time.

Racism, (Night), Consumerism, (Dawn) and Day dealt with the greed is good mentality of the 80's. Land is very much about terrorism and business with Dennis Hopper playing a Bush-alike character.

Diary is reflective of the times we live in also, where everything is a reality-soap and You tube is king.

Yes I met the man, Mr Romero, very nice chap he is as well. I got a bit geeky and very excited I have to admit.
