The final film of the trilogy is on this evening at 6:30pm on Channel 4.

The battle to save Middle Earth from the evil Sauron's clutches contiinue Gandalf, Aragorn and the rest fight.
Meanwhile as Gollum wants his 'precious' back he treachously leads Frodo and Sam into a spider trap.

To be honest I found it a cop out. the final battle scene was over too quickly.

goes on forever ... still good though ... shows how mad the Oscars is though as it won a shed load but a lot of the scenes were filmed before Fellowship or two towers!!

I think that Jackson on the whole did a good job with a once unfilmable project. Remember that crappy cartoon over live action USA version by the "Fritz the Cat" man?

I object that the demise of Saruman and the Shire scouring business is omitted completely> Wasted but as some one famous said - the last film of the trilogy has about 5 endings already.

I blubbed at the crowning of the King - Liv Tyler never looked so scrumptious - and "you bow to no-one" is fine. Frodo should have asked for a county or two of Middle earth as a reward but a King bowing to him and his pals - almost the same innit?

If you go to the movies for a good story then you can't really beat LOTR. It's an epic movie, great landscapes, vast battle sequences, characters you can care about. Great stuff.
