Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Dodgeball is showing on Film 4 on Tuesday at 9pm.
I thought that this film was going to be mildly amusing at best... however I was wrong. So far I would have to say that I feel this is the best comedy of the noughties.
Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller are rival gym owners who dont like each other and when Vaughn has to acquire funds to secure his geek friendly gym from becoming a car park this is where the fun begins, they enter a dodgeball tournament with the prize money being just enough to stop the take over.
Ben Stiller is a hit and miss comedy star if he is wearing a ridiculous wig chances are the film will be funny. Luckily in this film he does so laughs are aplenty.
Vince Vaughn is his usual sardonic self and plays the everyman geek friendly gym owner very well.
Rip Torn as wheelchair bound Dodgeball All Star couch steels every scene he is in whether it is through verbally abusing his team or with a training regime a hell of a lot more outrageous than Rocky going fist to fist with a dead cow!
Highly recommended film with some great one liners and when I first watched it I ached for hours afterwards. Still do everytime.
If you like the Farrelly's then this is in that vain, but lets face it apart from There's Something About Mary they have gone right off the boil, so this is definitley a lot funnier than their recent output.
What it, you'll laugh and cry with laughter, hell you may even just cry!!
This should definitely be a Morningstarr Classic!
