A population has to be supported, it wouldn't do to build houses on every available piece of land, there would be nowhere to farm. The majority of the population of Britain is crammed into the SE.

England alone is home to more than 50 million people, making it the fourth-most densely populated country in the world with a staggering 998 inhabitants per square mile

Re: Overcrowding.
Sure thing son, but you need something to export to pay for the imports?
The UK's trade deficit is already awful, although not as bad pro rata as that of the US..

Re: Overcrowding.
You don't actually need manufacturing, you can export services.

Re: Overcrowding.
Overpopulation stretches more than the need to import and export.
Just read this and come back with some reasoned argument as to why it's wrong:

I'm not going to read your linked website and then spend all day/week/year explaining why it's bollocks. If you would like to raise specific points I'll discuss them with you, if you want to exchange links read this:

Re: Overcrowding.
Are we over populated? I don't see malnutrition, fights for bread, queues for water. Is this thread just an excuse to be racist?

What is racist about a discussion on overpopulation?
I've seen no racist comments here, have you?
