The UK isn't overcrowded, not really. When you look at China, Japan or Mexico (the cities not the desert for any clever-dicks out there) you'll see that UK is relatively unpopulated. Scotland especially. You have 5 million people, so thats a million each for Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Iverness and Dundee... the rest is EMPTY, there's no sod there.
