Watched a documentary on National Geographic recently where they sent a baited camera down to an extreme depth. It was attacked by a chuffing great giant squid and now they have proof of it's existence on camera/record.

They're bloody scary. But don't sperm whales eat them? That's scary too, sperm that big.

Yes, I wouldn't want one of them in my balls, never mind a couple of million of the chuffers!

I remember seeing a TV programme once and this sailor was telling a tale about standing on deck at night and feeling something watching him, when he looked down he saw this massive squid's eye staring up at him!

He said the squid was the length of the boat.

I can well believe that, some carcasses that have washed ashore are chuffing massive. It's live ones that we know fuck-all about. There's a couple of expeditions looking for them this summer, I hope they get some decent footage, they will have to send a camera very deep to film these beasties.
