Default Middle East Crisis & WW3

Are we in World War 3 already? Some people believe it started with 9/11, intensified with Afganistan and Iraq, and the current conflict in The Lebanon just confirms it. Does WW3 mean 'total war', with it all ending in Nuclear war, or a more conventional war? Or am I worrying for nothing? After all, the Jews and Arabs have been fighting for at least 1000 years, why should it stop now?

Newt Gingrich thinks it is WW3: http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.co...d_war_iii.html

it's likely nothing to worry about.

but one thing i would like to see would be Israel to give back the land they stole from various country borders.

it'll most likely never happen though

If it is WW 3, there's no point worrying, just kiss your ass goodbye.

I'm afraid we'll have to sit back and be bystanders in the faint hope that wars will ever solve anything.
The last world war has ended up mainly benefitting the losers more than it did the winners.

If it is WW3 - may Newt be the first victim!

Modern wars are great, they'll be no conscription we'll just get to watch it all in the comfort of our own homes.
They'll be no nuclear bombardment, no arial bombardment of any sort and no threat of invasion. Unless for some ridiculous reason Russia or China decide to back the arabs there is no real threat to our way of life, and if one of the big hitters did step up America would find a diplomatic solution. No one is going to start a nuclear or global campaign. The last century saw the rise of modern warfare and the decline of forced colonialism, if the yanks want the middle eastern oil they will get it without needing too much force. And it doesn't matter how much they support the jews, they won't agree to nukeing the area if it means losing the oil.
