Jason Vale's 3 day detox.
We're ready!
Over the next three days we shall consume, and only consume the following:
3 Carrots
22 Apples
3 lemons
1 yellow bell pepper
1 1/2 cucumbers
3 sticks of celery
3 broccoli stems
1 large uncooked beetroot
2 pieces of fresh ginger
a small handful of parsley
2 avocados
some blackberries
some blueberries
1 pineapple
1lb of spinach
some natural flavoured yoghurt
and 3 1/2 litres of mineral water.
Day one has already started.
Our morning cup of tea was replaced by a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon.
For breakfast we have what is known as the detox special. A juice only mixture of apples, carrots, lemon, yellow pepper, cucumber, celery, broccoli and beetroot. Which was then whizzed in the blender with some ice.
It produced a rather fantastically raspberry coloured juice, about a pint of it. The taste is not unpleasant, which is a good job as we will be having exactly the same concoction for lunch.
The detox special contains vtamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C, E, and K. It's also crammed with potassium, magnesium, calcium, pectin, boron, iron, beta-carotene, folic acid, ellagic acid, selenium, phosphorus, riboflavin and anti-cancer phytonutrients.
Drinking it helps your body in several ways, the beetroot is good for cleaning the bloodstream, liver and kidneys. Celery helps flush the body excessive carbon dioxide and reduces acidity. The high levels of beta-carotene in the juice will mop up harmful free radicals and strengthen the immune system.
It's claimed that at the end of this detox you will have rid your body from all nasties such as caffeine and refined sugars and fats, we will have flatter tummies, a calmer nervous system, mental clarity and a heightened mental sharpness and awareness. We have nature running through our bodies and we're on the road to enlightenment....
