To catch a love rat
A few days ago Me & W-N watched a tonight show called To catch a love rat, it was all about an on-line dating scam
apparently quite a few people have been fooled by foreign gangs of love cheats who use dating websites to target British bank accounts.
the way it works is the gangs are posting profiles on dating sites, using pictures of people found on the net, they look for lonely rich woman and start an on-line relationship with them.
After sometime the woman are asked to use there bank accounts to pass money through or they are asked for money to help the man out.
part two is on tomorrow ( 8:30pm ITV1)
I don't see how these people did not think it was a scam

Re: To catch a love rat
I think lonely must also equal desperate.
It's quite sad really but I've seen progs and read stories about lonely rich women that go to foreign countries on holidays and get roped in by young 'fit' waiters etc who then suddenly have a dying mother who needs money for medical help. These woman often know they are taking a huge gamble but are prepared to do so to buy more time into their dream. I suppose the more cash you have the less of a percentage it is for you to lose if it is a scam.
