You know we hear things everyday that are just way out there. Are they just reporting because they have no real news or are they just coming up with this stuff to scare people.

Both. And it's the media, so usually not worth listening to...

I'm fedup of the notion that we need a diet of bad news and nannying bullshit.

Yeah, I've had to switch off the news a couple of times at breakfast this week, because it's all just so gloomy. I watched a programme about the wonders of our planet instead. Much more uplifting.

The media like a scandal, and some like to shock.

I don't knock it, I'll happily misrepresent news stories to add a bit of pazzaz on here!

But I don't expect people to believe in anything blindly, which they do with the mainstream press.

I assumed we were talking about America when media was mentioned. Is media in other countries just a puppet as well?

What I really can't stand is all these drug ads on TV. It used to be illegal for the drug companies to advertise but somehow that law got changed. Now, the majority of ads are about some pill that can get rid of your medical problem...but not before they tell you about the awful side effects you'll endure from taking their pill. It's so damn depressing to watch this crap. I just hit the mute button when they come on.

A lot of people want to amuse themselves by watching those news. As a result, media outlets increase their revenue and thus they increase their profit. Happy world ....
