The Influence of the Internet.
The Influence of the Internet.
Once the net was the domain of geeks.
Funny smelling blokes who either had no sex life or were complete repressed perverts inhabiting dark smelling corners of the world. Outrageous stereotype ain' t it? There's a reasonable grain of truth in it though.
Now however, the Internet has rapidly become something of near essential value.
I can illustrate this with my life.
This has all happened in the last 8 years.
Up until then my life had been really crap.
Then I got online, met a lot of men. I then met my partner whom I'm still with in a very happy relationship with.
We then found jobs, cars, houses, boats, shopping, cinema, more sex, and just about every half decent toy in the house from it.
My own self education is shaped by it. My bookshelves groan with 5 star and highly recommended reads in certain fields.
I'm skipping through stuff quite quickly, for example-we'd never have gone boating, or solved the hundreds of boating problems that came over 4 boats without the net.
Same with the cars.
Now, the net even has helped us take care of a relative. Housekeeper, laundry, care and legal info all found via the net in about 30 minutes of work.
From where I'm sitting, the net has grown up...and it's better than ever for porn.
I'm eventually going to be doing bits and pieces work via the net. Audio book contracts are one option for me...but there are loads of others including if I practice, freelance writing-online.
Interesting isn't it? A whole life, shaped in an outgoing direction, by having the net.
It's helped make my life far more social in the real world and online. Helped save me from serious financial errors too.
Re: The Influence of the Internet.
I only ever got the internet to see what I was missing out on.
It seemed like the natural thing to do, every bugger has it these days.
Re: The Influence of the Internet.
All I can tell you is that my own personal life is far far far better in every single respect than the direction it was going in before I got online.
Millions of times better.
Self education. Relationships. Choices. Holidays. Stuff I need or wanted..or didn't know I wanted.
I like having the choices and what it's done for me.
I couldn't do that back to nature thing-as a lifestyle choice, ever. Only as a holidy.
