HMV's shops of the future

HMV, the shop that sells CD's DVD's and Games is trialling out a new store in Dudley, West Midlands where it has download hubs, gaming stations and smoothie bars.

I think i would find this rather confusing. Will they still sell music and DVD's or will they be just total downloadable?

I hope they don't stop selling real albums, downloads just aren't the same.

A row down from the "social space" are terminals where shoppers scan the barcodes on CDs and DVDs, listen to and watch them and click on a buy button that will deliver a copy to the customers' home for free. The computers will also offer catalogues of tracks to be downloaded straight to memory sticks.

Reads like customers can listen to stuff from CD's as they sit there but to have the album you've to buy it and that it's only certain tracks that can be downloaded onto memory sticks.

I think it's quite clever. Especially if they sell the memory sticks.
