Dona sounds like some old guy whinging about the cost of living, my how soon life catches up to the not so old.

Sky + boxes have a bad reputation, I wouldn't waste my money on one to start with, that's the difference between thinking old and learning from your mistakes, or being old and learning from other people's mistakes.

Had my Sky+ for four years with no problems. If it goes tits up I will get a Freeview PVr, but until then, it is the best thing since sliced bread.

And what mistake did I make?

I think you'll find that my post was a lampooning of such grumpy posts. I have no particular problem with the fact the box costs £129, other than the fact that I believe I give them enough money as it is. I just don't like being lied to. I like to weigh up the cost before hand, and I hate sales men.

If by your post you mean that by buying Sky+ in the first place I have made a mistake, as all SKy+ boxes are inherently faulty, then you're more foolish than I took you for. I sincerely hope you don't make all financial (or technical decisions) based on public opinion.

Personally, with the kind of hours I work the Sky+ box was handy for watching all my programmes when I get home. Usually around 2 in the morning. And I'd recommend it to anyone.

You seemed less happy about it in your opening post Dona?
I think I'll stick to freeview from now on.
Perhaps not so much an old guy whinging, maybe a bit more like an old woman?

Hey! We've even got milk in cartons and not straight from the cows. It's quite civilised here now I'll have you know.

Well apart from Friday and Saturday nights when the drunkards come out to cause trouble.

Pssst - Just between you and me, I still have a Sky box but that sounded like a better ending. Don't want Mr Murdock to know I'm still watching. Not that he comes here that often these days. I suppose my only advice would be, not to believe everything on the Internet.

I hope Timey doesn't read that, he'd be shocked to know that anyone gets drunk and causes trouble in his homeland!

I hope you're actually Scottish t-v, otherwise Timey might accuse you of being a sassenach infiltrator, spreading wicked rumours?

I am Scottish SFB, got the Ronny Bru to prove it.

Comments about Scotland don't bother me too much simply because if people actually gave it a chance they would realise it really isn't any worse than anywhere else... so I usually join in.
