How the hell did she manage to hoard £400,000 if she's that stupid?

Dead husband might have left it her.

My dad has some dotty old aunt who's husband left her hundreds of thousands when he died, he'd always handled the money, she couldn't even figure out how to pay a gas bill. Never had a bank account, never paid bills or anything.

Yeah, that's one of the problems. Amongst the older generation there was often this thing of leaving all the finances to the man to handle, and when he passes away they are completely lost. But surely people should know that for a start if they are due a legitimate inheritance it would be handled through proper channels and they wouldn't ask for money up front.

There's another story on that page of a woman being intimidated by someone saying that they had fraudulently used someone's card and that they had to pay £250 or they would be taken immediately in a car to a court. It doesn't work like that and surely they knew they hadn't done it anyway? Sadly it seems there is an abundance of people who can't think straight, and that is why there will always be conmen and women to prey on them.

Well, they roped her in because she wanted £10million the greedy so-and-so.

Anyway, money's obviously no use the daft bugger, she was sat on four hundred grand at 75-years-old, what was she waiting for?

Exactly, so with all that money what the fuck did she need another 9.6 million quid for? People are mesmerised by numbers.

Have you thought that the old girl may have been a successful business woman in her own right, worked hard all her working life and amassed a few quid.

I would never take a gambul of that magnitude meself but avarice is in us all.

Not really, because if she was such a successful business woman she wouldn't have been swindled so easily.

You can only con a greedy person.
