    Default Cash4Cameron ~ Tory Scandal

Last night news broke that a Sunday Times journalist had a recording of Peter Cruddas (Conservative Party co-treasurer) offering access to the PM for a 'donation' of £250,000.

Cruddas said that £250,000 gives "premiere league' access, including dinner with David Cameron" and furthermore "You will be able to ask him practically any question you want", and if that's not enough "If you're unhappy about something, we will listen to you and put it to the policy committee and number 10". (I think you also get a souvenir photo of the day too).

The whole video footage, lasting two hours, has not been revealed, just the bare bones so there might be more to come but damage limitation has already begun with Cuddas immediately resigning before the ink in the Sunday Times even had time to dry.

Cruddas is now backtracking furiously making out that nothing of the sort ever actually went ahead, that it was not something that he could offer or that David Cameron would consider and that he has never even knowingly even met anyone from the Number 10 policy unit.

So, what do you think, is Cruddas some sort of mentalist fantasist that goes around offering deals that don't actually exist? Unlikely, you don't get to be named the richest man in the city (est £860m) pissing off rich people by offering things you cannot deliver.

What are the chances that this is the only time he has offered this experience day and it just so happens to be to a reporter? I wouldn't bet my house on that one, journalists are highly unlikely to start investigating something without some sort of inkling as to what might happen.

So what does this mean for Cameron? If it can be proven that Cameron has been dining with strange men (for a price) and lets face it for £250,000 you'd want more at the end than coffee and an After Eight then there are massive implications, particularly with Cruddas offering that concerns will be taken to the Policy Committee.

Whatever your views or feeling about this, remember - We're all in this together.

It's no shocker but it's wrong (and possibly illegal) to buy yourself laws, regulations and policy changes, which is pretty much what they reckon has been going on.

I doubt any of these fat cats have the bulk of the British public at heart when they go in with a list of needs and wants.

No point getting rid of Cameron, this county is in a shit state so it may as well be him who gets slated for trying to fix it.

Well I'm sure that's what they say is going on, but is it really? All they seem to have been selling is an audience. There's no guarantee that Cameron will even listen, and then they do still have to get it passed through parliament. They're not buying every MP.

No offence taken. However, anyone who thinks Labour would be any better are kidding themselves, as they would have us being like Greece by now. We may be in a state, but we are sure as hell better off than Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland at the moment.
