How many schools are there in the UK?
I don't believe that statistic at all , it just can't be true.
There are about 25,000 schools in England, how many in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland? Another 5,000?
So about 5% say that pupils with English as their first language are a minority. That's 5% of schools, not 5% of pupils. The 5% of schools could well be these tiny faith schools with about a dozen foreign kids in them.
So it's just a cleverly worded headline to make it sound worse than it is as usual.
