No Poppies In Libraries.

It is time we stopped all this nonsense.
Those who send out these letters want stuffing and mounting IMO.

Libraries ban poppies: 'We can't favour one charity above others' says manager.

'Scandalous': Staff at 48 libraries in Derbyshire were ordered to remove collection boxes selling poppies

For decades they dutifully sold poppies without objection.

But then staff at nearly 50 libraries were ordered to remove their collection tins and boxes - in the name of equality.

Officials ruled they could not be seen to support 'particular charities at the expense of others'.

The ban, which applied to all 48 libraries in Derbyshire, was yesterday described as 'scandalous'.

Staff were sent an email on October 28 warning them to remove any boxes from public areas 'immediately'.

maybe the people that send our soldiers to war should take responsibility for them when they come home...it's not like it's a puppy dog charity ...these are people coming back from war zones,and just being left to find nhs and mental health support by themselves.. mostly ending up in hospitals with people from the opposing side of the war,taking care of their treatment too.

I heard on TV not long ago that the British Legion is constantly in debt, bigtime, even with the poppy money donations.

apparently they only receive half of what they need... and rely desperately on poppy donations. shame on the liblabcon..still i guess they need the money for their moats and gardening schemes.

my principal here is...that this is an illegal war we are in now..so i won't wear a poppy for that reason..

i agree with ben for once,i think that our injured soldiers shouldn't have to rely on charities to support them.. the government should be doing that...as it was their choice to send our sons and daughters out there.. we weren't fighting for our freedom this time.. just doing a nosey and wanting control of oil this time.

All you need do is go on your profile. On the right hand side of the screen as it is facing you there is a link to <show all statistics>. Click it and it will give you the option to <find all posts made by kham> on the left hand side of the screen facing you ... Click that and then just go down the list to locate the post you want to find.

Just as a matter of interest, you can do this with all registered posters in case you ever want to locate a specific post
