A teacher with an unblemished 31-year career is facing the sack after he was fined for hauling a disruptive pupil out of a lesson.

Michael Becker, 62, lifted the 13-year-old boy by his sweatshirt collar and the waistband of his trousers after the teenager ignored four requests to stop telling a racist joke.

He then left him in a storeroom which had a window in the door. The pupil let himself out moments later.

The boy's parents contacted police the same day and complained he had been assaulted.
