If he is a convicted burglar he should be in jail even for his first offence IMO.
Just imagine waking up in the dark and finding him ransacking your draws, it ain't right.

Goofy bleedin judges.

A burglar will be allowed to keep living on an illegal travellers' site after a High Court judge ruled it would help him to beat his heroin addiction.

Tom Smith, 30, a Romany gipsy, was evicted from his plot along with his partner and four children last year.

But Judge Richard Seymour QC has now altered an earlier High Court injunction banning anyone from living on the 100ft by 80ft plot at Willingham in Cambridgeshire.

He said living near to family, who have legal plots on the site, will help Mr Smith's rehabilitation. The recovering addict admits he used to burgle homes to feed his habit and is on probation.

Judge Seymour told the court: 'Mr Smith, at this moment as he continues to try to overcome his heroin addiction, requires effective support.'

You see judges arriving by police convoy. They'll be able to play the "Don't you know who I am"? card should they ever need police assistance.
They really don't live in "our" world.
If the gypsy had given his mum a "roasting" with his mates then IMHO some of the sympathy would rapidly evaporate. It surely can't now be an illegal site if a judge has condoned his residence there.
It's like Jack Straw boasting of remonstrating with a gang of yobs he saw spitting.
Nothing like 4 armed plods stood behind you to make you feel brave.

I once knew senior magistrate who had flown spitfires in WW2, he had several commendations, a very brave gallant man.

As a magistrate he was quite stupid and did not have a clue about the outside world in which we live.
He believed if you talk to these criminals nice then they will respond to you and behave, give them several chances, load of ballz.
Hit them hard the first time and they will not want a second dose but if they do come back throw the book at them.
