Default Teacher Locks 4 year Old Boy In Cupboard.

Although, on the face of it some people are and will say that she is wrong, what was she expected to do?

Obviously the teacher was unable to cope, should there not be a rule in place to deal with this problem?
If this boy needs extra help why did the school management not foresee it and take away this decision from the teacher.
She was concerned about the boys disruption to his classmates.
Where does a teacher of her age get experience to deal with special needs children, out of a book?

A TEACHER has been suspended after being accused of locking a special needs boy of four in a cupboard.

It is claimed that pregnant Samantha Marsh shut the lad away in the unlit hallway cupboard after he was repeatedly disruptive in her class.

Child abuse cops are probing the alleged incident. A dad with two children at the school said last night: “All the parents are disgusted. How can anyone treat a child like this?

“This boy needs extra help and a bit of patience from the teachers.

“What she has done could haunt him for the rest of his life.”

The reception class teacher, in her 20s, was suspended after a colleague reported her to the head.

A source at Mead Primary School in Harold Hill, Essex, said: “A few teachers saw what happened. They were gobsmacked. Every teacher has to deal with difficult kids.

“Apparently the boy was shouting and screaming. She wasn’t able to calm him down, so she just got rid of him. It’s frightening to think a teacher could do this to a four-year-old.”

It must be a horrendously difficult job Major.
I don't get paid as a brain surgeon, frankly cos I couldn't do the job.
    She takes the money.
Perhaps sometimes "Special Needs" means disruptive little bastard.
Teachers have been totally banjaxed, y'can't beat 'em with a stick, certainly can no longer set fire to the little shits.
I wouldn't want my kids education to be held back just because of one brat.
They either sort him out or get rid.
Yet again the parents have totally absolved themselves of any blame. Teachers don't have the same powers as parents, they can't offer TV's in bedrooms, Playstation games, bags of sweets etc.
Some kids have never heard the word "NO" until they get to school.
Just had a water fight over the park with a bunch of local kids.
    I won!

Special needs children are supposed to have extra support at school. That means additional staff is supposed to be there to cope with the child. Where was that support?

    I understand your view CC.

It is my belief also that these type and other children get dumped into school far too early in their lives.
How about the parents raising them from womb to 5 years old like it used to be, we did not have all this special needs thing then which today I believe some is attributed to uncontrollable bratz who parents scam extra benefitz from the taxpayer because they are useless parents, it has become a bandwagon scam IMO.

The special needs kids parents should be educated never mind the kids.

Real special needs children should get the best help possible.

We love labels that excuse our failings.
Many shit kids come from shit parents.
Also, teachers in our day, sweeping assumption, had lived through a war, parents had lived through a war and both were much tougher, not in beating the little B's, but in being more strict.
We also had communities that were the extended eyes and ears of your parents. Everybody knew everybody, who was living over the brush, who hadn't donkey-stoned their back grid.........everything.
You got away with nothing and knew it.
Now parents put a telly, DVD and games machine in a kids bedroom when they are three and don't see 'em again until they leave school or want something.

She was wrong, 100%. If she cant cope, she should,nt be doing the job. It must be a terribly hard job, but she should choose another profession, IMO. You dont lock ANY child in a cupboard, no matter how disruptive.

My mum and dad would lock me in a dark "Coal-hole" when I was a kid.
    No wonder I'm loopy.

Well, its difficult, I was'nt there, and it depends how disruptive the child was being, and in what way. If he could'nt be distracted, which is the easiest way to deal with 4 year olds, he should have been separated, and dealt with one to one.
A young child, especially one who has special needs, should be shown kindness and understanding, locking ANY child in a cupboard is cruel and totally uncalled for.
