Robots could demand legal rights
Robots could one day demand the same citizen's rights as humans, according to a study by the British government.
'The predictions are contained in nearly 250 papers that look ahead at developments over the next 50 years'.
"We're not in the business of predicting the future, but we do need to explore the broadest range of different possibilities to help ensure government is prepared in the long-term and considers issues across the spectrum in its planning,"
^^^ Bloody good job 'cos it looks like they'd be shit at it!
It's all very Dr Who ish.

Re: Robots could demand legal rights
only if they get a mind of their own and speak for themselves
Orbis non sufficit
'I'd sit alone and watch your light,
My only friend through teenage nights,
And everything I had to know, I heard it on my radio'

Re: Robots could demand legal rights
According to people in the know, if machines ever gain self awareness legal rights will be the least of our worries.
Re: Robots could demand legal rights
One day they will give human beings citizen's rights, but it's most likely that robots will get it first.
