Re: RONNIE BIGGS.
He ain't gonna do any harm to anyone now.
His sentence in the first place was over the odds IMO but you cannot mess with the queens mail as the saying used to go many years ago.
His crime was taken to be against The Establishment, that is part of the parole denial.
There are thousands in nick worse that Biggs.
For a dying man he is certainly hanging on.
It will save us a shed load of loot if he is let out.
Some weeks back there was talk about letting Peter Sutcliffe out.
I will be happy as larry when these thieving shyster MPs are jailed and their ill gotten gains put back into the system.
Re: RONNIE BIGGS.
He isn't a risk to anyone now, that was the main argument as to why Biggs should be released. And, in comparison with today's sentencing I think he received an overly harsh sentence. That's what has been said about Ronnie Biggs, you could say the same for Brady.
The difference is because Biggs is a charming bastard people like him, and everyone thinks Brady is an "evil monster". Fortunately the courts manage to act without this sentimentality, Biggs got the sentence he deserved and he should serve it.
Re: RONNIE BIGGS.
Its daft to compare the two. Yes, they are both frail old men now, but Biggs never hurt anyone. Yes, the robbery he was involved in, was to blame, but he did,nt mastermind it, he was a petty criminal, who apparently got involved at the last minute.
He deserved time, and he got it, (eventually)
Brady is a child killer.A sadistic predator, who has never faced up to the horror he brought about. He will, as I said, rot in jail.
Re: RONNIE BIGGS.
But he's no harm to anyone anymore, that's what the Major said about Biggs.
So really it boils down to retribution and not whether anyone is a risk or anything. Biggs was given a prison sentence, just like Brady, for crimes he committed. Why should he be allowed to get out early when others don't?
