Re: New Coin designs
When I see British money, I always think it looks very old and old fashioned for some reason. They look lovely though.
It's pointless them wasting time and money changing all the designs though, they'll be welcoming the Euro with open arms within no time.

You reckon? Even though most people here are dead against it?
BTW, we have had some of these new coins in our change already.

I've no idea. I only said that because I know how against it most people in the UK seem to be.
My daughter had a new £20 note that I hadn't seen before - it looked quite snazzy compared to the older ones.

I do think we should have a "Bank of Britain" instead of Bank of England and get rid of Scottish notes. THey cause so much hassle it's not worth it.

Re: New Coin designs
Scottish notes are accepted in some shops in England.
I bet it takes months for those new coins to make their way up here.

Re: New Coin designs
What do you mean by hassle? Is it just because you have difficulty using the notes outside of Scotland?

Yep. Not just in England but abroad too. Some places won't exchange them at all.
They're hassle here too. Why on Earth do we need three different types of banknote?
