That was gonna be my next question, but I'd asked two already.
I'd never thought about that until now. In Egypt they were eager to have English currency rather the Egyptian pounds etc. I was wondering whether they'd be just as eager to have the Scottish notes because they're worth the same.
I have a couple of Scottish notes in the drawer, but I don't see it as money for some reason (because of the hassle to spend them in England). I save English money instead of banking it usually, then give visitors a good exchange rate for their left over euros. The Scottish notes get shoved to the back of the drawer like they're worthless.

Re: New Coin designs
We often get English notes out if we are going to England. We didn't when we went to Blackpool though as we knew they would take Scottish notes. Blackpool would go out of business if it didn't.

Re: New Coin designs
They reckon that the Scottish notes are easier to fake, that's the reason a lot of independent shops won't take them round here anyway.

They're not easier to fake. It's just that they are unfamiliar down there and therefore harder to check that they are genuine. Having three different banks issuing the notes doesn't help. We didn't have any problems in Blackpool though.

Re: New Coin designs
Come to the Euro side, we have only one of a kind notes...
Anyway, why are the English so against the change?

That'll be it. We don't want to cause any extra work do we. You won't have any trouble in Blackpool as it is the capital city of Glasgow.

The British are against it. We are just insular, I think, and like to preserve our identity. People may also be worried about joining a currency that will one day include countries like Romania, Bulgaria and possibly Turkey. Although the Euro is strong at the moment, it may not always be.
OH, BTW, as you are a bit nearer to them than us, I wondered if you had any idea why the Swedes and the Danes aren't in the Euro?

Re: New Coin designs
Maybe we should just try using duel currency's Pounds and Euro's.
Sounds like a real stupid idea though.

As long as you drink tea, worship your nobles and speak proper english, you shall keep your identity.
As for the swedes and danes...
Don't know about the danes and who gives a munch about the swedes?
