Justice Minister Maria Eagle says the new legislation would close a loophole in the law which paedophiles are using.

It would mean that you could face up to three years in prison for owning drawings or computer generated images of child sex.

I think the error here is visual depiction.

It seems to get around current laws against paedophile activities and possession of illegal images - drawings are being made of actual photos of children being abused.

And this is the resulting proposal? What about other frowned on practices? Murder (crime books) War (Battle films) etc etc.

Under this Law - I suspect - - I KNOW I have frowned on visual images on my computer. Hentai etc.

I love comics and have already put my hand up to being guilty under this suggested ban.

But like that tax on so called non green cars - it is retrospective (to 2001 in the cars case?) and will do little in my opinion to stop what it is really trying to halt. Another cack handed law or two.

If it is actual pictures that are being manipulated then it just shows what a waste of time these child porn laws are. I don't see the point in prosecuting wankers for looking at drawings of child abuse, they should concentrate on actually protecting children not persecute harmless perverts.
