Darnell is a gang-bangin' albino from St Louis!

He was born in Ipswich but was raised in St Louis in the United States. He was deported back to the UK though for getting involved in gang crime and now lives in London trying to help kids stay out of trouble.

Darnell describes himself as personable, outgoing, caring and sensitive, who can often talk too much and say the wrong things. Doesn't sound much like a gang member to me.

At least he isn't another big-headed wannabe. Although his head is rather large.

Albinism

Did anyone notice his eyes? Peeps at work reckon he isn't a proper albino as his eyes were blue not pink. I do work with a bunch of hair splitters though.

Darnell cried as he relived the torment he suffered in prison.

The US songwriter – who suffers from albinism, a hereditary congenital disorder, which leaves sufferers completely white due to a lack of melanin pigment in the eyes, skin and hair – said inmates wanted to beat him up because he had a pretty girlfriend.

He said: "They felt like I didn’t deserve her. ‘Why does a guy who looks like that have a girl that looks like that?’ Everybody I’m with has to deal with the fact that I’m albino."

Darnell served time for gang culture related crimes but has since returned to the UK – where he was born - and now spends much of his time mentoring community youth groups in North London.

Big Brother housemates are worried about Darnell.

Last night, Jennifer, Sylvia and Dale said they felt the albino US deportee was isolating himself and has yet to come out of his shell.

Sylvia said: "Darnell is a bit, like, different, in the sense that he doesn't eat at the same time as other people would.

"He hasn't told me why, but I'm trying to get him to be open. Like, if you feel you can't sit at the table because of a certain reason, we're not going to force him. I feel like he's been isolating himself a little. I'm a bit worried about him."

DARNELL branded Mario a "beast" during a heated row yesterday.

The usually passive albino - who mentors community youth groups in North London - lost his temper with the bodybuilder for muscling in on the house’s musical task.

Mario, 43, told the would-be musicians to stick to the instruments they could play, despite conductor Darnell being given the responsibility of overseeing the group.

Mario said: "It’s a task. Do you want to eat rubbish food?"

But songwriter Darnell - who was voted the most musical ‘Big Brother’ housemate - confronted Mario for throwing his weight around.

He said: "People are willing to learn something here. You’re running around and it looks like I haven’t got control of the situation.

"The most musical person has to be on the drums. It’s just who has a brain that can carry those kind of things."

But despite Darnell’s reasoning, randy Mario - who has been suspected of having sex with girlfriend Lisa under the covers twice since Friday’s eviction - wouldn’t back down, saying he was insulted by the US deportee.

He said: "I take offence to that. You need to take that back. You can’t talk about people like that."

Darnell responded: "You’re a beast, man! Why would you make me feel like that? You don’t wanna go to those places with me because you’ll look like a fool. You don’t know the problems I go through."

The housemates must learn to play ‘When The Saints Go Marching In’ as a collective to pass the task.
