Post Do you remember the first book you ever read?

I still remember the first book I ever read...a real book, I mean, not a comic strip, and not a fairy tale that your mother read for you till you fell asleep.

I was nine years old when I read my first book. It was a Hardy Boys novel. Unfortunately, I don't remember the title or the story, but I am absolutely sure that it was a Hardy Boys novel.

I liked it so much that I read and reread it and demanded more books to read. My father got me the membership of our local library just to silence me, and after that, I read tons of novels.

What about you? Remember that first novel?

Errr, no, I don't, but it may have been The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C S Lewis. I certainly read that, and most of the other Narnia books, at quite a young age.

I remember reading The Hungry caterpillar when I was at infant school.

The first proper book I remember reading is The adventures of Mr Pink-Whistle.

You mean like proper type novel then?

I was reading Mr Men books when I was three, but first book I read that didn't have pictures in was possibly The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark by Jill Tomlinson.

Bunnikins Picnic Party. I was given the book when I was in hospital having my tonsils out when I was six or seven. I can’t remember who wrote it.

I could probably stretch this to adult books. The first one i read was probably a Point Horror or Stephen King's IT.
