Yesterday I lost all of my Firefox bookmarks and apparently it's not uncommon.
It has never happened with IE.
My advice to FF users is to keep a separate copy record of your favourites somewhere separate, IE Favourites is probably the best place.

You should try Mac OSX Tiger, it's everything this new Windows operating system wants to be.

 that made me laugh so much I think a little bit of piss came out.

SFB, you'll find a lot of quirks in FireFox as it is open source software. Meaning, you don't pay for it and it's updated by people out of the kindness of their hearts. But it is a price that is worth paying for a 'secure' environment. IE is a security risk I would not advice anyone to use.

There are other options. Opera is also a very good browser. But in the end, they all have quirks and user issues, that some find more annoying than others.

IE has it's faults, but has never lost 'Favourites' in 5 years of use!

I used opera on a PC and it worked fine.

That's what my dad prefers to use and he's on the net all the time.

Thank fuck i have Opera.

It must have been because i turned off the laptop without properly shutting it down.

This page here helps to get it back, but i think i was too late.
