George Takei's Sulu - John Barrow-man's "Jack Harkness" Russell B Davis even. Heroes - the first two - TV heroes ( Heroes - did I spot George in that too?).
Oh - those in the know will know why John is
Barrow-man in my jaundice versus jaundice eyes
I thought of the infamous split infinitive on TV retained for the Next Generation of Star Trek" also. Even spoken by Patrick Stewart - Royal Shakespeare etc
"To
boldly go where no man has gone before" when this morning a strapline in my newspaper read "The Gay War Hero and the issue that divides America"
The
Gay War Hero?
The War Hero would have done for me. Then when we are done singing songs to the guys courage let us sit down and discuss what the hell his sexuality has to do with anything now he is a LATE War Hero?
Peter Tatchell was on crusade about William of Orange's sexuality yesterday - having a go at various groups he contends are homophobic - and cite William as their excuse?
I will bow to Peters greater knowledge - but I sighed and thought - try telling certain other groups St George may have well been at least dusky in hue if not out and out black and see how far you get.
But let us keep war heroes simply that please and to hell if America finds it an issue. In my opinion they are just plain wrong!
But what do I know?
